The most impressive during our travels for me was the animisme in Sulawesi Indonesia. the souls....the ghosts... not only in humans or animals ..but in stones and rivers,.even thunder and lightning. Good and evil.U see the tree The second foto??? well its a kind of graveyeard.When a baby dies..the body goes inside the tree U can see the 6 lil doors on the tree ...yes!!! ..well they believe that the soul of the baby will go up...as the leaves grow to the sky.. January 07 18 Boys 5-10 years oldAfter a day of rest we went to Balapitya orphanage.
I always had the intention to help an orphanage,kids u know...Weak place in the heart.
The building was very new ..donated by Australia after tsunami.
But its not only a building those kids need...its so much more.
The love of a mom and dad.
As i already wrote a year back about my colleague her daughter and her husband. They want to adopt a baby.
Documents to fill...courses to finish..and still...no baby for them.
They are down...and now when i see those 18 boys ..i think...why cant we bring them together..is that so difficult?
seems...
what can i say.
  Sheets and towels were needed...
so off we went to the shop
And my husband said those kids
also need footballs and cricket bats..lol
so this was the result..

 He was alone on the world...eyes focused
 The football needed extra air.....alil pause..and then Football again.
Second Christmas day was an emotional one.
9.25 2 minuts silence to remember the 5 year Tsunami
and give flowers to the sea...

January 02 Boattrip on the MAdu GAngaThe next day we visited our friends in Balapitiya.
 As Nalin is a captain on a excursion boat we wanted to enjoy the beautiful nature.
In the middle of the water a small hindu temple
 a shrimps breeding pond hmmm
 then we came to another small island with a temple.
There were 2 old monks and 2 very young boys.
I was bit surpised that at such young age they were already seperated from their parents
 this is their bed.
 after a lil prayer in the temple we left the island
But first a pic of Muthumina Tharoon (youngest of the family) with a banana for a sweet lil squarl.
 and we went for a picnic on the cinnamon island
 and then it started to rain, thunder lightnings....brbrbrrrrrrr

 December 29 The first days in Sri LAnkaSaterday morning 12 th december we were all packed and ready to fly.
First we had to fly to Heathrow, cos there are no direct flights to Colombo from Brussels.
Sunday morning we arrived in Sri LAnka and ready for 15 days of sun and friendly ppl.
I had to see the sea first. So here the first pic of that.  Fishermen showing their catch....food for the family.
  and the ladies on the beach try to sell colourfull dresses.
so im a green and black one richer now..hihi
 Tuesday we drove with Suresh and Surendra to Badulla.The school we wanted to visit was in the high mountains.
Chamaree her native village It took around 6 hrs to get there. Next time we need 4 wheel drive car.thats a fact..I hope that Surendra's car is not that damaged.
 We arrived at the school Kids were already waiting for us.
it was very emotional for Etienne and me.
Principal, teachers and dance teacher and of course Cha UR DAD
He is a wonderful man. He translated in Sinhala.
Flowers for us...hmmm...it was overwhelming.
The kandy drums invited us to come inside the school.
I love the music. Really its awesome
 The kids danced and sang for us..I was suprised cos i did not expected so
much attention.
 After the donation we shared tea...
 And the most important pic...The kids
 Tx to all the ppl who where there to share these special moments.
After that we visited also my best friends family...Sorry Cha..we missed u..

 December 04 My Catthe last days our cat Chica was acting wierd...
 When we touched her she showed her teeth.
Normally she loves it.
we could not hug her. She went upstairs and seperated herself from us.
i talked abt this with a friend and he said check every part on her body..But she did not allow us.
so now friday i went to the vet
and what we feared became reality..
he said she is probably hit by a car or bike..First we thought she might had a male cat on her .
well u know the hormones..hihi
But he said MAil cats bite their female...this it different
The injuries were made by force.
 The worst is over now..she sleeps snore snore.
I wish everyone a wonderful weekend.
November 27 Health weekHealth week.
 Whole week we could join courses at our working place.
During Lunch Free health food like 0% youghurt drinks and fruit.
Have a chair massage.
So relaxing. Wish we could have this every day. Hints for my CEO???

 November 14 Childrens day[] IndiaChildren's Day is to celebrate "childhood". On Children’s Day tribute is payed to all children in the world. Children are loved by one and all. They win over our hearts with their angelic eyes and innocent smiles. It makes one realise that maybe that’s the way God wanted us to be.
Tx Pety for the Info. Kids ...hmmm Some have it easy...cornflakes???? and glass of juice some have a hard time to get food every day...walking around on the streets. Some have a hot bath even twice a day..... some are happy with a sheet, to cover them for he cold. Some have toys...even a kids laptop. some are happy with a story telling friend.
Its such a difference ............. where the stork drops u. November 12 I wonder I got this pic in a mail ( Tx Deeps) and i started to wonder....

A very interesting interview took my attention.
THE SILENT WAR IN SRI LANKA
The war in Sri Lanka is over after a 26 year fight. In Mai this year the last Tiger rebels were defeated by the government army.
Father Paul Satkunanayagam takes care of ex child soldiers and visited refugee camps.
 Those camps are inaccessable for outsiders. Ppl were desperate but asked him to go and tell their story to the outside world.
Father Paul is a Sri Lankan from Batticaloa and well known by everybody living in the northeast of sri lanka
WHat he did during the war and still does for those kids ...well he has a place in my heart.
 pls read more of him on this website and that the ppl in the north are still fighting for a normal life.
Cos even the war is over....the pain is still there.
Father Paul U got my attention. Thumbs up!!!
 October 29 An autumn walkFoggy morning.

 I came home at 12 after 4 hrs office work with a head ache ,painfull throat and running nose.
I was thinking when i was driving home....i eat and then horizontal. I dont do a thing today.
But my hubby thought different...change clothes we go for a walk it will do u good, he said
so as a perfect wife ( hihi) i went upstairs to do what he asked.
And indeed i was reborn after the autumn walk..

Damien
Damien was born as Jozef ("Jef") De Veuster as the seventh child in the family. Following in the footsteps of his brother Auguste (Father Pamphile), Damien became a Picpus Brother On March 19, 1864, Father Damien landed at Honolulu Harbor in downtown Honolulu as a missionary.
The Native Hawaiians became afflicted by diseases inadvertently introduced to their islands by foreign traders and sailors. Thousands died of influenza, syphilis and other ailments which had never before affected them. This included the plight of leprosy .Damien's arrival is seen by some as a turning point for the community. Under his leadership, basic laws were enforced, shacks became painted houses, working farms were organized and schools were erected.
As indicated in his diaries, in December 1884 Damien went about his evening ritual of soaking his feet in boiling water. He could not feel the heat because he had contracted leprosy. Despite this discovery, residents say that Damien worked vigorously to build as many homes as he could and planned for the continuation of the programs he created after he was gone. Father Damien died of leprosy at 8.00am on April 15, 1889, aged 49.In 1936, the Belgian government asked for his body to be returned to native soil. It was brought back aboard the Belgian sailing ship Mercator and now rests in Leuven, an historic university city close to the village where Damien was born. After his beatification, the remains of the right hand were returned to Hawaii.
He gave his life for the people with leprosy
and to morrow october 11 th in the Vatican Pope Benedict XVI will make him Holy..
   October 03 QuizAs u all might have noticed ..it was silent on my space these last weeks.
this is gonna change again. I was organizing a quiz, for our projects in sri Lanka.
last evening the event took place, and i can say........ it was a big succes.
ten rounds each round had ten questions abt music, geography,fotoos, puzzles.
We had 27 teams sweating on the questions Hoping to end as number one lol.
 During the pause we did a lotttery with awesome gifts. So every one happy.
specially me..i was suprised abt the results..One Happy MJ..lol
At the end of the evening everyone had a present..All those presents we got from sponsoring companies.
Tx guys...
My hubby and i cant do this all alone of course...so i want to say a big tx to all my friends who helped me on this evening
serving drinks...being a part of the jury..selling lottery tickets..behind the bar...and the catering, and behind the pay desk.
